Crack the egg gently over a bowl
Hold the shell halves apart
Let the egg white slip into the bowl
Keep the yolk in one shell half
Pass the yolk back and forth between shell halves if needed
Place the yolk in a separate bowl
Use an egg separator if preferred
Wash hands and surfaces after handling raw egg
