Check the blind type and lift mechanism
Fully raise the blinds if possible
Hold the bottom rail firmly
Release the locking mechanism or cord lock
Pull the lift cord downward and slightly toward the center
Lower the blinds slowly and evenly
Guide the slats or fabric to prevent twisting
Stop at the desired height
Secure the cord or wand if needed
Test that the blinds stay in place
