Measure the window width and decide the rod placement
Mark the bracket locations on the wall or trim
Use a level to keep the marks even
Drill pilot holes at the marked spots
Insert wall anchors if needed
Attach the brackets with screws
Place the drapery rod onto the brackets
Secure the rod according to the bracket design
Hang the drapes on the rod
Check that the rod is level and firmly mounted
