Take norethindrone only as prescribed by your clinician
Start it on the day your clinician tells you to start
Take it at the same time every day
Do not skip doses
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose
Do not take extra doses to make up for a missed dose unless your clinician told you to
Keep taking it for the full prescribed course
If you want to delay or stop a period, begin it before your expected period only if your clinician instructed you to do so
Use backup contraception if your clinician advises it
Contact your clinician if you have heavy bleeding, severe pain, chest pain, shortness of breath, leg swelling, or signs of pregnancy
Do not use norethindrone without medical advice if you have a history of blood clots, liver disease, breast cancer, or unexplained vaginal bleeding
