How To Treat Croup?

Keep the child calm and comfortable

Use a cool-mist humidifier

Take the child into cool night air for a short time if breathing worsens

Give fluids to prevent dehydration

Use acetaminophen or ibuprofen for fever or discomfort if appropriate

Avoid smoke and other airway irritants
