Identify your GPU model and current driver version (Windows: Device Manager → Display adapters → Properties → Driver tab)
Download the latest driver package from the official GPU vendor website (NVIDIA / AMD / Intel)
Disconnect from the internet (optional but recommended)
Uninstall the existing driver (optional)
NVIDIA: Use NVIDIA installer “Clean installation” option or run Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) in Safe Mode
AMD: Use AMD Cleanup Utility or the installer’s clean option
Intel: Use the installer to perform a clean install if available
Boot into Safe Mode (if using DDU) and run the cleanup tool
Install the new driver package
Run the downloaded installer
Choose “Custom” (if available) and select “Perform a clean installation” if you want a full reset
Reboot your PC after installation completes
Verify the driver update
Windows: Device Manager → Display adapters → Properties → Driver tab
Or use vendor control panel (NVIDIA Control Panel / AMD Software / Intel Graphics Command Center)
If issues occur, roll back or reinstall
Windows: Device Manager → Display adapters → Properties → Driver tab → Roll Back Driver (if available)
Or reinstall the previous known-stable driver version from the vendor site
