Check the popcorn bag for microwave instructions
Remove any outer plastic wrap
Place the bag in the microwave with the correct side facing up
Set the microwave for the recommended time
Listen for the popping to slow to about 2 seconds between pops
Stop the microwave when the popping slows
Carefully remove the bag using oven mitts or a towel
Open the bag away from your face
Pour the popcorn into a bowl if desired
