Check for studs, pipes, and wires
Choose the correct anchor type for the wall material and load
Drill a hole sized for the anchor
Clear dust from the hole
Insert the anchor into the hole
Tap the anchor in flush if needed
Place the item or bracket over the anchor
Insert the screw through the item into the anchor
Tighten the screw until secure
Do not overtighten
Test the anchor by gently pulling on the mounted item
