How to Replace a Dryer Vent?

Unplug the dryer

Pull the dryer away from the wall

Disconnect the old vent hose from the dryer and wall connection

Remove any clamps, tape, or fasteners

Inspect the vent opening and surrounding area

Clean lint from the vent pipe and dryer exhaust outlet

Measure the vent length and diameter

Purchase a replacement vent hose or duct that matches the size

Attach the new vent hose to the dryer exhaust outlet

Secure the connection with a clamp or foil tape

Attach the other end of the vent hose to the wall vent

Secure that connection with a clamp or foil tape

Make sure the vent is not kinked, crushed, or overly stretched

Push the dryer back into place carefully

Restore power and gas supply if applicable

Run the dryer and check for proper airflow and secure connections
