Open the door and locate the screws on the handle plate or rose
Remove the visible screws with a screwdriver
If there are no visible screws, find the small release hole or set screw on the handle
Insert a pin, paperclip, or Allen key into the release hole and press or loosen it
Pull the handle off the spindle
Remove the escutcheon or cover plate if needed
Unscrew the latch plate on the door edge
Pull the latch mechanism out of the door
Keep all screws and parts together for reinstallation
