Turn off the water and dry the area
Check the drain cover type
Look for visible screws and remove them with the correct screwdriver
If there are no screws, try lifting the cover with a flathead screwdriver or putty knife
Twist the cover counterclockwise if it is a threaded type
Use needle-nose pliers to grip and lift a stuck cover
Cut through old caulk around the edge if needed
Clean any debris after removal
Avoid forcing it to prevent damage to the drain or tile
