Shuffle a standard 52-card deck
Deal 20 cards to each player face down
Place 5 cards face down in a draw pile for each player
Put 2 cards face up in the center
Keep the remaining cards as each player’s stockpile
Hold your cards in hand as your reserve
Play cards from your hand onto either center pile if they are one rank higher or lower than the top center card
Aces can be played on Kings or 2s
Kings can be played on Queens or Aces
Play as fast as possible
Refill your hand from your stockpile when you have fewer than 5 cards, if using that variation
If neither player can play, each player flips a new card from the draw pile onto a center pile
Continue until one player runs out of cards
The first player to empty their hand and stockpile wins
