Use a 40-card Italian deck
Deal 3 cards to each player
Place 4 cards face up on the table
On your turn, play one card from your hand
If your card matches the value of one table card, take that card
If your card can make a sum with table cards equal to its value, take those cards
If multiple captures are possible, choose one valid capture
If you cannot capture, leave your card on the table
Continue until all cards are played
Deal 3 more cards to each player when hands are empty, until the deck is gone
The last player to capture takes any remaining table cards
Score 1 point for each scopa
Score 1 point for most cards captured
Score 1 point for most coins captured
Score 1 point for the settebello
Score 1 point for having the most cards of each suit in some variants
Play until a target score is reached, often 11 points
