Place a skillet on the stove over medium heat
Add a small amount of oil if needed
Put the sausages in the skillet in a single layer
Cook the sausages, turning occasionally
Brown all sides evenly
Reduce heat if the sausages are browning too quickly
Cover the skillet if needed to help cook through
Cook until the sausages reach an internal temperature of 160°F for pork or beef sausage, or 165°F for poultry sausage
Remove the sausages from the skillet
Let them rest briefly before serving
