How to Find MAP Blood Pressure?

MAP = (Systolic Blood Pressure + 2 × Diastolic Blood Pressure) ÷ 3

Use the systolic and diastolic values from the blood pressure reading

Multiply the diastolic pressure by 2

Add that result to the systolic pressure

Divide the total by 3

Example: 120/80 mmHg

MAP = (120 + 2 × 80) ÷ 3

MAP = (120 + 160) ÷ 3

MAP = 280 ÷ 3

MAP = 93.3 mmHg
