Turn off the shower and let any water stop running
Place a towel or rag over the shower arm and drain
Grip the showerhead with your hand or a wrench
Turn the showerhead counterclockwise to loosen it
Remove the old showerhead
Clean the shower arm threads
Remove any old plumber’s tape or debris
Wrap new plumber’s tape clockwise around the shower arm threads
Align the new showerhead with the shower arm
Turn the new showerhead clockwise by hand until snug
Tighten gently with a wrench if needed
Avoid overtightening
Turn on the water and check for leaks
Tighten slightly or reapply plumber’s tape if leaks appear
