How to Replace Outdoor Water Faucet?

Turn off the main water supply

Open the outdoor faucet to drain remaining water

Remove the handle if needed

Unscrew the old faucet from the pipe or wall fitting

Clean the threads or connection area

Apply plumber’s tape or pipe joint compound to the new faucet threads

Install the new outdoor faucet by hand

Tighten the faucet securely with a wrench

Reinstall the handle if removed

Turn the water supply back on

Check for leaks

Tighten connections if needed

Test the faucet for proper flow

Insulate or cover the faucet if needed for winter protection
