Get out of the sun immediately
Cool the skin with a cool bath, shower, or wet compresses
Apply aloe vera gel or a fragrance-free moisturizer
Drink plenty of water
Take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain if safe for you
Avoid popping blisters
Cover the burn with loose, soft clothing
Avoid further sun exposure until healed
Use sunscreen and protective clothing after recovery
Seek medical care for severe burns, large blisters, fever, confusion, dehydration, or signs of infection
