Measure the rice and water accurately
Use the correct water ratio for the rice type
Bring the water to a boil
Add the rice and stir once
Reduce heat to low immediately
Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid
Simmer without lifting the lid
Cook until the water is absorbed
Turn off the heat
Let the rice rest covered for 10 minutes
Fluff the rice with a fork
Serve immediately
