Park the vehicle and turn off the engine
Put the vehicle in park and engage the parking brake
Locate the fuel door on the side of the vehicle
Press the fuel door to release it if it is a push-to-open type
Pull the fuel door open if it has a handle or latch
Remove the gas cap by turning it counterclockwise
Place the gas cap in the holder if equipped
Close the fuel door after refueling
Turn the gas cap clockwise until it clicks if applicable
