Meet Connecticut eligibility requirements
Be at least 18 years old
Be a legal resident of Connecticut or have a place of business in Connecticut
Be able to read and write English
Complete the Connecticut notary public application
Submit the application to the Connecticut Secretary of the State
Pay the required application fee
Take the required oath of office if appointed
Receive your notary commission certificate
Purchase a notary seal or stamp
Keep a notary journal if desired or required by your employer
Follow Connecticut notary laws and duties
Renew your commission before it expires
