Meet Georgia eligibility requirements
Be at least 18 years old
Be a legal resident of the county where you apply or have a place of employment in that county
Be able to read and write English
Have no felony convictions unless your civil rights have been restored
Complete the notary application for your county
Obtain the required surety bond if your county requires one
Pay the application and filing fees
Submit your application to the county clerk or designated county office
Take the oath of office if required
Receive your notary commission certificate
Purchase a notary seal/stamp that meets Georgia requirements
Keep a notary journal if you choose to use one or if required by your employer
Follow Georgia notary laws and maintain your commission
Renew your commission before it expires
