How To Make Rice White?

Rinse 1 cup of rice under cold water until the water runs mostly clear

Drain well

Add rice to a pot with 2 cups water (or follow your rice package for water ratio)

Add 1/2 tsp salt (optional)

Bring to a boil over high heat

Reduce heat to low and cover tightly

Simmer 15–20 minutes (depending on rice type) until water is absorbed

Turn off heat and let stand covered 5–10 minutes

Fluff with a fork and serve
