Mark the spot where you want the anchor
Check for studs, wires, and pipes before drilling
Choose the correct drywall anchor for the weight
Drill a hole the same size as the anchor if needed
Insert the anchor into the hole
Tap the anchor gently until it is flush with the wall
Screw the fastener into the anchor
Tighten until secure, but do not overtighten
Hang the item on the fastener
Test the hold gently before fully loading it
