Use butane refill canister
Turn lighter upside down
Find refill valve on bottom
Purge remaining air if needed
Match nozzle to valve
Press canister firmly into valve
Fill in short bursts
Stop when fuel slightly overflows
Let lighter sit upright for a few minutes
Adjust flame if your lighter has a control
Test lighter away from face and hands
