How to Stop a Bad Nosebleed?

Sit upright and lean slightly forward

Pinch the soft part of your nose just below the bridge

Keep constant pressure for 10 to 15 minutes

Breathe through your mouth

Spit out any blood that goes into your mouth

Apply a cold compress to the bridge of your nose

Do not tilt your head back

Do not lie down

Do not blow your nose

Do not pick or rub your nose

Repeat the pressure for another 10 to 15 minutes if bleeding continues

Seek urgent medical help if bleeding is heavy, lasts more than 20 minutes, follows an injury, or you feel faint
