How to Prepare Black Beans Dry?

Sort through the dry black beans and remove any stones or damaged beans

Rinse the beans under cold water

Soak the beans in plenty of water for 8 to 12 hours or overnight

Drain and rinse the soaked beans

Place the beans in a pot and cover with fresh water

Bring the water to a boil

Reduce to a simmer and cook until the beans are tender, about 1 to 2 hours

Skim off any foam if needed

Add salt near the end of cooking

Drain the beans and use as desired
