Choose a pot with drainage holes

Use a well-draining cactus or succulent soil mix

Fill the pot about one-third full with soil

Remove the aloe plant from its current container

Gently loosen the roots if they are tightly packed

Place the aloe in the center of the pot

Add soil around the roots until the plant is secure

Keep the base of the leaves above the soil line

Press the soil lightly to stabilize the plant

Do not bury the stem or leaves

Water lightly after planting

Place the pot in bright, indirect sunlight

Wait until the soil dries out before watering again
