How to Prune Rubber Plant?

Use clean, sharp pruning shears or scissors

Prune in spring or early summer

Wear gloves if the sap irritates your skin

Cut just above a leaf node or branching point

Remove dead, damaged, or yellow leaves first

Trim back leggy stems to encourage bushier growth

Cut the top of the main stem to control height

Remove any crossing or crowded branches

Do not remove more than one-third of the plant at once

Wipe away sap from cuts if needed

Rotate the plant after pruning for even growth
