Remove dead, damaged, or diseased leaves with clean scissors or pruners
Cut off runners if you want the plant to focus on fruit production
Trim old leaves after harvest to improve airflow
Remove weak or overcrowded stems
Keep the crown intact and avoid cutting into the center of the plant
Prune only the outer foliage and spent growth
Clean up all removed plant material from around the plants
Disinfect tools before and after pruning
