Meet Kansas eligibility requirements
Be at least 18 years old
Be a resident of Kansas or a Kansas-based military spouse stationed in Kansas
Be able to read and write English
Not be disqualified by a felony conviction unless civil rights have been restored
Complete the Kansas notary application
Obtain a surety bond in the required amount
Submit the application and bond to the Kansas Secretary of State
Pay the required filing fee
Receive your notary commission from the Kansas Secretary of State
Purchase official notary supplies
Obtain a notary seal/stamp that meets Kansas requirements
Keep a notary journal if required by your practice or employer
Follow Kansas notary laws and procedures
Renew your commission before it expires
