Place the carrots in a microwave-safe dish
Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of water
Cover the dish with a microwave-safe lid or plate
Microwave on high for 3 to 5 minutes
Stir or turn the carrots halfway through cooking
Check for tenderness with a fork
Microwave in 30-second intervals if needed
Drain any excess water
Season and serve
