Rest
Drink small sips of water, oral rehydration solution, or clear fluids
Eat bland foods when tolerated, such as crackers, toast, rice, bananas, or applesauce
Avoid alcohol, caffeine, dairy, greasy foods, and spicy foods
Wash hands frequently
Stay home and avoid close contact with others
Use acetaminophen for fever or aches if needed and safe for you
Avoid anti-diarrheal medicines unless a doctor says it is okay
Seek medical care if symptoms are severe, last more than a few days, or include signs of dehydration, blood in stool, high fever, or severe pain
