Choose a location with full sun and well-drained soil

Harden off seedlings before planting
Plant broccoli transplants 18 to 24 inches apart
Space rows 24 to 36 inches apart
Set plants at the same depth they were growing in their containers
Firm the soil gently around each plant
Water thoroughly after planting
Apply mulch around the plants to retain moisture and suppress weeds
Keep the soil evenly moist
Feed plants with a balanced fertilizer if needed
Protect young plants from pests and extreme temperatures
Harvest the main head when it is firm and tight
