Select a sunny site with well-drained, loose, sandy loam soil
Clear weeds, rocks, and debris from the planting area
Test soil pH and aim for slightly acidic to neutral soil
Work compost or well-rotted manure into the soil
Form raised beds or ridges if drainage is poor
Choose healthy, mature groundnut seeds or pods for planting
Plant when soil is warm and frost risk has passed
Sow seeds 2 to 5 cm deep
Space seeds 10 to 15 cm apart in rows
Keep rows 45 to 60 cm apart
Water lightly after planting
Keep soil moist but not waterlogged
Weed regularly to reduce competition
Hill soil around plants as they grow
Avoid heavy nitrogen fertilizer
Apply balanced fertilizer only if soil test recommends it
Protect plants from pests and rodents
Harvest when leaves yellow and pods are mature
Lift plants carefully and dry pods after harvest
