Choose a planting site with full sun to partial shade
Use well-draining soil
Plant bulbs in fall or early spring
Dig a hole about 2 to 3 times the bulb’s height deep
Place the bulb with the pointed end facing up
Space bulbs about 6 to 8 inches apart
Cover the bulbs with soil and gently firm it
Water thoroughly after planting
Apply mulch to help retain moisture and regulate temperature
Keep the soil evenly moist, not soggy
Remove spent flowers after blooming
Leave foliage in place until it turns yellow and dies back
Protect bulbs from pests and excessive moisture
