Infertility or recurrent miscarriage
Family history of celiac disease
Type 1 diabetes, autoimmune thyroid disease, or other autoimmune conditions
Positive blood tests for celiac disease, including tTG-IgA, EMA-IgA, or DGP tests
Low total IgA or need for IgG-based celiac tests if IgA deficient
Confirmation with an upper endoscopy and small-bowel biopsy
Continuing to eat gluten before testing, since stopping gluten can cause false-negative results
