How to Propagate Pineapple?

Twist or cut off the leafy crown from a ripe pineapple

Remove a few lower leaves to expose the stem

Let the crown dry for 1 to 2 days

Place the crown in water or directly in well-draining soil

If using water, keep only the stem base submerged

Change the water regularly until roots form

If using soil, plant the crown in a pot with sandy, well-draining mix

Keep the soil lightly moist, not soggy

Place in warm, bright light

Transplant to a larger pot or garden bed after roots establish

Optionally propagate from suckers, slips, or suckers from the parent plant

Separate suckers or slips when they are a few inches tall

Plant each offset in well-draining soil

Maintain warmth and consistent moisture until established
