Add a bottom barrier if needed for pests
Fill the bed with quality soil mix and compost
Water the soil to settle it
Plant seeds or transplants
Mulch the surface if desired
Check and maintain moisture regularly
Inspect for rot, shifting, or pests
Refill soil as it settles over time
