How To Germinate Cherry Seeds?

Choose ripe cherries and remove the pits

Clean all fruit flesh from the pits

Place the seeds in a moist paper towel or damp peat moss

Seal the seeds in a plastic bag or container

Refrigerate them for 10 to 12 weeks for cold stratification

Check regularly to keep the medium moist, not wet

Remove seeds from the refrigerator after stratification

Plant seeds about 1 inch deep in potting soil

Keep the soil moist and warm

Place the pot in bright indirect light

Wait for germination, which may take several weeks

Transplant seedlings after they develop several true leaves
