Clean and slice 8 oz mushrooms
Heat 2 tbsp butter and 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat
Add mushrooms in a single layer
Cook without stirring for 3 to 4 minutes
Stir and cook until browned and tender, 4 to 6 more minutes
Add 1 minced garlic clove
Cook for 30 seconds
Add salt and black pepper to taste
Add 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce
Add 1 to 2 tbsp beef broth or water if needed
Stir and cook until the liquid reduces
Remove from heat
Spoon over steak
